Has anyone actually gotten all the stamps from the letterboxes in the
CT State Forests and then gotten a hiking staff for accomplishing that
goal?

I've gotten all 30 boxes in the CT State Forest series, and notified the DEP thru the website. Unfortunately I've not received the hiking staff, or even had my e-mail acknowledged. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has gotten their patches (for doing 5) of walking stick (for all 30).

Sunshine and I haven't gotten all 30 but we did get the 5 required to
get the patch. We did recieve our patches, we even got one for our
Dog Toad. The DEP had the walking sticks at the 100th aniversery
celebration in Barkhampsted and a couple were awarded. They weren't
too pretty (I know "sour grapes") but it's still very nice to get
rewarded for doing something we love.

We didn't get all 30 CT State forest boxes but we did snag 5 and even though it took a few weeks, our patches did arrive. I think we were one of the first, the powers that be were very intersted in our perspective.
I'd love to get all 30, but living in the Hudson Valley, some of the boxes in eastern CT are almost 3 hours away... fine if the Mama Bandits are boxing alone, but imagine have all 7 Baby Bandits in tow!!!

I got my patch pretty soon after notifying them. But, the 'rules' state that
they will check to be sure you were where you said and I expect it takes a
while to verify all those boxes!

We have received our patches for completing 5 Ct. state forests but have not
reached 30 yet. DEP was prompt in acknowledging our finds via e-mail. Music
Woman was in contact with the DEP alot to arrange the gathering at the forestry
day. Try getting intouch with her to find out who to contact.

I would send an e-mail concerning any DEP boxes (hiking staff, patches
etc...) to:
chris.donnelly@po.state.ct.us
Right now, that is the only e-mail address I have for DEP.
Good Luck!

The DEP checked and verified I did post to teh boxes, and they said I
did, but then said the patches were back ordered. That was months ago.

I finished all 30 back 3 months ago. I was promised a staff from Chris O. He said it would be mailed. I have wrote him several times since and nothing at all. I got one patch and thatwas it.

I am glad you did. I was promised one but never got it. I finished them back 3 months ago.

I have sent him several e-mails. In fact I even sent him one from work that tracks. It has been a month and he has not opened it.
